It has been a month since my Ate and Kuya Meyrick exchanged vows. Ang much-awaited Wedding of the Year sa family was held last February 28 at Caleruega in Nasugbu, Batangas. Kudos to my Ate who had to juggle her time – as a wedding coordinator of her own wedding, as a mom to Yuan and as a graduating law student. It was March 30 last year when my Ate and Kuya conducted an ocular inspection in Caleruega. A.M. in the morning. I personally witnessed how my Ate took care of every details of her own wedding. From the flowers to the motif to food tastings to music, as in lahat. It was a beautiful wedding indeed as many of the guests commented. The Travelocity theme is an idea of my brother-in-law. The invitation resembled a boarding pass. During the reception, instead of table numbers, places that the couple had visited and nakalagay. So New York, New Jersey, Catarman (Samar), Balanga (Bataan), etc. ang "destinations" ng guests.
Ang aga ng wedding kaya we have to check-in at the “White House” in Tagaytay February 27 pa lang ng hapon.
The ceremony was simple. Ang galing pa ng officiating priest, Fr. Ronnie Loreto from Morong, Bataan who was a former student of my Mom.
“Moonlight Over Paris” ang music habang while the entourage is marching at “Feels Like Home” naman ang song nung bride na. Yuan, my one and only nephew, was a ring bearer pero dahil nahihiya siya kaya sumabay siya mag-march sa aking cousin, si Ate Kaye who's also part of the entourage.
At tulad ng mga usual na wedding, some of the guests and our close relatives was teary-eyed habang naglalakad ang bride at malapit na siyang “ipaubaya” ng kanyang parents sa groom. Instead of the usual church choir, my sister decided to hire a string quartet for the wedding. Siyempre I chose the Church songs na favorite ko. I chose of one of my favorite liturgical song, "Love is the Answer" to be played by the string quartet during the communion. Lahat na yata ng gimmick sa wedding nakita ko: photobooth for the souvenirs, a modern approach to the ceremonial bouquet and garter toss, wedding AVP, same-day edit videos, etc. My sister also decided to hire an on-site wedding coordinator kaya seamless ang buong event. It was indeed a memorable Wedding of the Year – a first in our family. Lalo pang naging memorable ito for me since I’ll be leaving for Shanghai the next day.
Some of the random photos of the event:

Ang kasal parang araw lang nagsisimula sa bukang-liwayway at tamis ng pagmamahalan

My beautiful cousins with my younger sister - Khrisy (3rd from left)
